Les articles se font rares ces derniers temps. Il est vrai. A ma défense, plusieurs projets me prennent pas mal de mon temps. Rassurez-vous, cela devrait s’arranger dans les jours qui viennent. Bon évidemment, ça ne veux pas dire que les articles vont pleuvoir tout d’un coup hein ! J’suis pas Zeus non plus…

Don’t worry fellas, I’m still here. I’ve just been really busy lately. I made a few changes on the blog, worked on my new portfolio and started a new project (I’ll talk about it later). And so I didn’t really have the time to write new articles but that doesn’t mean I forgot ya .

About the changes on the blog, if you haven’t noticed yet, I :

- changed the footer, to add my flickr RSS , I just opened an account, you can check it out here : .chonchon ; but also a link to my Twitter page, my RSS feeds and some other stuff.

- added my last Twitter update on the sidebar. Feel free to have a look at it, I often give useful and great links (beautiful websites, awesome photos, etc.)

- added the total number of articles and the total number of coments on the blog. It might sound a bit useless but well, some people are curious

- finally added a “send this article by mail” button at the end of each article.

…what plugin do you use for you blog ?

People have been askin’ me what plugins I was using for my blog. So here’s the list !

1. must have

- All in One SEO Pack : SEO (Search Engine Optimization) will easily help your blog being seen more efficiently by search engines. You just have to fill a form for each article you write with keywords, description and title, and it’s done !

- Akismet : one of the best anti-spam available.

- Google Analyticator : works with Google Analytics (which works with a simple Gmail account)

- Google XML Sitemaps : automatically generate a sitemap of your blog/website. That way, it’ll be better referenced by search engines.

- Secure WordPress : this plugin will secure your wordpress, by adding index.html files to your wordpress directories for example. This won’t secure completely your blog but that’s a start

- ZdMultiLang : this is a must have if you wanna have several languages on your blog. You can add a translation for your links, categories, pages, tags and of course articles. And you can add as many languages as you want !

2. contact, mails and so on

- cforms : allow you to create all kind of forms, very useful and lot of options available. I use it for my contact form.

- FeedBurner FeedSmith : a classic ! worpress integrates a RSS feed but feedburner will provide you a advanced RSS feed. Just one thing : try to join feedburner before you launch your blog or you’ll lose some readers on the way lol.

- MailPress : allows visitors to join the mailing list, so that you can send a mail to them automatically when an article is posted for instance.

3. comments

- @ Reply : simply add a “reply to” to each comment on your blog. Very simple to use.

- Get Recent Comments : allows me to display the recent comments everywhere I want on my blog.

- WP Ajax Edit Comments : a very useful plugin that allows you to edit comments on your blog directly from the blog without going on the admin area. Moreover, users can edit their own comments.

4. miscellaneous

- NextGEN Gallery : a really advanced tool to create pictures galleries with some cool effect (lightbox, fade in, etc.)

- Smilies Themer + Smilies Themer Toolbar : the first one will simply allow you to change the default smilies in your wordpress. The second one will add a toolbar to your post editor and to your “post a comment” area with the smilies available to include them in your posts and comments

- What Others Are Saying : display RSS feeds of your blogroll on your blog.

- WP-PageNavi : a more advanced pagination for wordpress.

Here are some links very useful I use quite a lot:

- Noupe : one of my favourite! talks about webdesign in general but gives great wordpress tips and tutorials as long as awesome freebies.

- WPdesigner : worpress expert, this blog provides news and complete wordpress tutorials an tips

- The Tamba2 WordPress Guides by Podz : very usefull, this website contains awesome guides on wordpress templates and files, as long as tutorials.

- WpRecipes : when all you need is a simple recipes to add a “send to twitter” function on your blog, this website’s here for you. Just great !

- One of the best article about worpress plugins, with explanations and tutorials !

P.S. : Ok ok. I know, this is not a movie quote. I apologize for that but I found it myself and it would be almost impossible to find a quote talking about Twitter I think.

I know that the P.S. should be at the end of the article but who are you to judge me ?! It’s my blog, I do whatever my deranged mind tell me to do, nah ! mwahahah !!

Few changes on the blog !

1. I just added a newsletter form on the right sidebar of the blog. If you don’t use RSS feed, you can subscrive to the newsletter and an email will be sent to you as soon as a new article has been posted ! isn’t that amazing ? ^^ lol . All you have to do is enter your email in the form then confirm your subcription. And there you go !

2.For those you use the RSS feed, I changed it. The old one still works so don’t worry . But it would be better for me if you use the new one, as it uses feedburner. So now, the RSS feed of the posts is : http://feeds2.feedburner.com/ .

3.You can now edit your comments ! But you have to know that you can’t edit your comments after another one has been published and after 30min you’ve posted yours. But if you really want to edit a comment but you can’t, you can still ask me
