Thursday 5th March 2009.

It’s 12:50 and I’m waiting for Erick to pick me up to go to the train station. The train leaves at 1:21pm. As usual, Erick’s a bit late lol, so I’m a bit stressed. I really don’t want to miss that train. It would ruin the whole week-end actually. No train means no flight means no trip to Dublin. Yes, today, we’re going to a 3-days trip to Dublin!! And I’m pretty excited about it. I’ve never been there and I’m gonna see some fellas from Middlesbrough I haven’t seen since December :D . So basically, this is going to be huge!!

Erick finally arrives. We get to the train station, and jump in the train. Once inside, I check AGAIN the important stuff : train tickets, ID, credit card, plane tickets. Everything’s fine. Cool.

As you may know, we’re both well organised. Therefore we don’t have food nor drink. First thing to do in Paris : eaaat ^^ . Once arrived, we take the subway to go to Châtelet. There’s a huge mall there and it’s not too far from where have to go afterwards. It’s 4pm, weather’s beautiful, we’re in the middle of Paris and… we having a burger, ahah! We still have some time to go for a little walk in the area. But we kinda know it well so nothing to see really.

Damn, it’s already time to go! we find the closest tube, direction Porte Maillot. There’s a coach there that will bring us to the airport. And if you wonder, it’s fuckin’ expensive. Seriously, for one hour of coach, it’s 13€ whereas when you take the coach from Middlesbrough to London (so 6 hours travel), you pay something like 8€. But we don’t have the choice, it’s the only way to get to the airport.

One hour later, we’re in the airport. No luggage to register, no check in to do, we already did it online. All we have to do is well fun, cuz we have to wait, wouhou!! lol it’s ok actually, we don’t have to wait that long. But we’re a bit thirsty so, as clever as we are, we buy a big bottle of water. And you all know we can’t bring big bottles full of liquid in the plane. So here we are, 10min from the boarding and an almost full bottle of water to finish before. I’m not a fan of drinking more than I need. Very bravely, Erick decides to finish it. What a gooood idea!! Apart from Judith, I’ve never seen someone going that often to the toilets. But well, maybe Erick likes it, we never know!

Anyway, we finally board on the plane, and it’s full of excited young Irish. Looks like it’s a school trip or something. Naturally, they talk very loudly, they scream, whistle and mess around. But to be honest, that doesn’t really bother me. The excitement of the trip maybe :) . Oh and I chose the perfect place in the plane, never tried it before. I’m right next to the emergency exit door. Which means I got more space than the other passengers, but which also means that if the plane crashes, I get to jump first. I don’t care, I can stretch my legs ahah!

The plane lands while the young excited Irish crew applauds. First time I see people applaud when a plane lands. Why not… after all.
We jump out of the plane (damn, I wish I could try one day, you know, to jump out of a plane on one of these yellow emergency inflatable slides, would be awesome :D ) and enter the Dublin airport. I can’t believe how stupid architects can be sometimes. There’s this huge corridor, twice as large as it needs to be. People of my flight break up in that corridor. So large I can punch Erick without him to be thrown onto the wall. At some point, all these people finally regroup. We don’t know why. All we can see is a huge herd of red-haired people, stopped.
In the plane, we weren’t close to that excited horde of kids. Now, we’re in the middle of it. Oh that’s perfect. They push, scream (still), and there’s a 14/16 years old girl with a baby. Feels like UK already :D .
Remember the stupid architect ? I think he did the perfect job here. The large corridor actually ends up in a really small and narrow stairs. Awesome, great, beautiful, clever. 20min to finally pass it. And after that, another queue for the passport control. Have I told you how much I loved airports ? :P

Ok, we made it! ahah! now we have to wait the others. They should arrive in 15min. We find a seat in the “people-who-wait area”. I look at the screens to see the exact time of their arrival. Shiiit. Their flight is delayed. 35min to wait. Nevermind, I’m sure we can find something to do while waiting. Ooook, let’s see.. “Hey Erick, have you noticed ? Everybody wears pink over here, how weird, I’m sure pink is the new green in Ireland. Wanna spot every pink we see ?” Ok. So for the next 30min we actually point at people who have something pink. After these 30 minutes of a pretty shitty game, we have a really interesting argument about the limit between pink and red. And yes, I know my colours. I can tell you it was PINK!! And I’m 100% sure on that one, and I’m damn right ladidon!

Hey ! there they are!! :D It’s just so great to see them. A hug, a little chonch’ joke towards the german girls. “How are you ? enjoyed the flight ?” The basics.

It’s almost midnight, and there’s no regular buses, only private coaches. And it’s expensive, 6€ to get to the town centre. But again, we don’t really have the choice, we booked a hostel and to be honest I don’t really wanna sleep at the airport tonight lol.
Organised. That’s word. The perfect word I wouldn’t use to describe us lol. Nobody has a plan, nobody knows where the hostel is. But we don’t care, we’re just happy to see each other, no matter if we sleep in the streets ! ok, no, would be better with a bed actually ^^. It’s midnight, we’re in on of the biggest street of Dublin, O’Connell Street, and we have no fuckin’ idea of where to go. We find a map, and it’s cool, the hostel’s just two streets from where we are.

On a 3 days-trip, you can’t waste your time sleeping. I know, I’m a bit surprised I said that too. But I don’t mind less sleeping, I wanna enjoy every moment of this trip. So instead of going to bed now, we decide to talk in the kitchen. Not for long tho, cuz the kitchen closes in 15min lol. So after a glass of water and some tea for Judith and Lise, we go outside. Some news from France, some news from England. There’s some nostalgia in the air. Ah, the good ol’ times! I miss it. And I’m aware that people can’t live without me and that Middlesbrough died the day I left ^^ . Anyway, it’s time to go to bed now, we have a busy day tomorrow.
We sleep in the staff room. And those lazy asses are already sleeping, so we have to be quiet.
Good night everyone.

.cuz we just little puppets
